The editors of the regular “ThoughtWorks Technology Radar” want to expand their support and consultancy resources in the UK and Germany.

The IT consultancy ThoughtWorks, known for its ThoughtWorks Technology Radar, which is regularly published twice a year, has announced the acquisition of Gemini Solutions Inc., but financial details of the transaction have not been published. The team of the Romanian software development and consulting company is primarily supposed to expand the ThoughtWorks activities in Support Europe – for example by looking after existing customers in Germany and Great Britain. For this purpose, the employees of Gemini Solutions are to be transferred to the newly founded company ThoughtWorks Romania, which Serban Tir will take over as the new General Manager. Tir was previously CTO (Chief Technology Officer) at Gemini Solutions.

What does ThoughtWorks do? Since its foundation around 25 years, ThoughtWorks has been advising companies on digital transformation. The consulting company draws on the know-how of experts from various areas such as software development and architecture – these include, for example, CTO Rebecca Parsons, who is intensively involved with evolutionary architectures, and Chief Scientist Martin Fowler, who is the evangelist for the topic Refactoring is known, or the microservices expert Sam Newman.
