Press image Samsung Galaxy S22 series falls into the hands of LetsGoDigital. Official poster reveals the design and model name ‘Galaxy S22 Ultra’.

In recent weeks and months, more and more details have become known about the expected Galaxy S22 series from Samsung. The new smartphone line-up will consist of three models. In addition to a base model, a Galaxy S22 Plus is expected, as well as a new top model, the S22 Ultra / S22 Note. By far the most specs have already appeared online. The design of all three models has also become known through renders. Afterwards, live photos and videos of several dummy devices were also leaked.

The only thing missing is official marketing material. Until today, because LetsGoDigital managed to get their hands on an official marketing poster from Samsung Electronics – no less than two months before the official release. This image gives us the first real look at the new S-series 2022 models. The press image also reveals some new details.

Unfortunately, in order to protect the source, we cannot elaborate on the origin of this image. Nevertheless, we have been able to determine that it is an official image of Samsung Electronics. Such posters are often used in public places, such as a public train station, at an airport or on a billboard along the road.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra becomes the model name of the top model

The press image shows the new top model from Samsung confirming the design of the back panel. The Ultra model will come with a water drop camera design as LetsGoDigital already revealed in October. Also worth noting is the text that comes with it ‘Galaxy S22 Ultra’ – depicted in the usual Samsung font.

There has been a lot of confusion about the name for a long time. Partly because the new top model resembles the Galaxy Note series a lot in terms of design and functionality, it has been suggested online several times that Samsung will also change the model name.

Several possible model names were mentioned, from Galaxy S22 Note to Galaxy Note S22 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Note Ultra. However, the official press image shows that Samsung will maintain the traditional name, i.e. the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be succeeded by the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Just as remarkable is the color in which the new top model is depicted, it is a rose / pink / purple shade. No information is yet available about the name of this Turkish Rose variant. It is clear that the Ultra model will also be released in black, white, red and green. Color availability may vary per country.

Furthermore, the image shows that the S22 Ultra will be compatible with Samsung’s S Pen. The stylus pen is shown in a black color, but the end of the stylus pen has the same pink color as the phone itself. Due to the positioning of the phone, the bottom of the device is not clearly visible on the marketing image.

Despite this, it is known that the S22U will be the first Galaxy S-series smartphone with a built-in S Pen compartment – as we know from the Galaxy Note line-up. The optional covers with S Pen pocket will therefore be cancelled. Of course, many other official Galaxy S22 accessories are expected.

This Galaxy S22 render shows the faulty camera design. Samsung’s marketing poster reveals that the camera lenses will not protrude – contrary to what previously leaked dummy devices showed. In addition, the S22 series will get a matt glass finish – not glossy.

Samsung Galaxy S22 / S22+ camera design

In addition to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra the press image shows another smartphone. This is the Galaxy S22 Plus, which is expected in white / black / green and pink gold. The base model will look the same as the Plus model – the main difference being size. The S22 will have a 6.06″ AMOLED display, the Plus model will be equipped with a 6.55″ screen.

The camera system is slightly changed compared to its predecessor. The main difference is that it protrudes less far from the housing. Thus, the S22 / S22+ will also wobble less when you place it flat on the table. Another characteristic difference is the curve in which the camera island overflows towards the side and top of the phone. This curve has been reduced considerably.

Also noteworthy is the difference with the dummy images that are currently circulating on the internet. In the dummy images, the camera lenses protrude slightly – as we also see with the Ultra model. However, from the Samsung marketing poster we obtained it appears that in reality this will not be the case. An additional advantage, this will prevent dust and dirt from accumulating around the camera lenses.

A lot is also known about the camera specs. The base and Plus model will be equipped with a triple camera consisting of a 50MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP zoom camera with 3x optical zoom.

The Ultra model will of course get the most advanced camera system. The top model will be equipped with a quad camera. In addition to an upgraded 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and two 10MP telephoto cameras will be built in for 3x and 10x optical zoom.

Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy S22 series in mid-February 2022. A virtual Galaxy Unpacked event will be set up for this. The new trio will probably go on sale in the last week of February.

Note to publishers : The Samsung Galaxy S22+ / S22 Ultra poster shown in this publication is official marketing material from Samsung Electronics. The 3D product renders are created by Giuseppe Spinelli, aka Snoreyn, based on the model of Parvez Khan, aka Technizo Concept. The images are based on the latest rumors. This product is not yet for sale. Samsung is expected to release the S22 series in February 2022. You can use the images for your own website, YouTube and/or social media channels, please be so respectful to include a clickable source link into your publication.
