So far we could only get a model of the GeForce RTX 3090 look at. With the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC, one of the supposed top models has now reached us , which we want to put through its paces. Within ASUS ‘own series, the ROG Strix models are the absolute spearhead and should not compromise on the performance of the other equipment. Of course, this also has its price – not only in euros, but also in other points.

As with the models the GeForce RTX 3080 are also the models of the GeForce RTX 3090 hardly available. The GeForce RTX costs 3090 with 1. 599 Euro at least twice as much. But just as the street price for the GeForce RTX 3080 is currently well above the recommended retail price, this is also the case for the GeForce RTX 3090. More than 2.000 Euros are not uncommon for such a card – especially when you look at the high-end models like the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC takes effect.

The GeForce RTX 3080 in the Founders Edition from NVIDIA serves us for reference. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to take a closer look at them yet. But we had the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 Gaming OC 24 G in the test, which also has minimally higher clock rates 755 MHz boost clock) and one at 20 W had a higher power limit to offer.

ASUS is still going with the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 OC in many ways once much further. How to raise the boost clock from 1. 700 on 1. 860 MHz. But this only applies to gaming mode. In OC mode, the card offers a boost rate of 1 via software. 890 MHz. We tested the card in gaming mode. A table below shows the differences between the various modes. Otherwise, the top model from ASUS with the GA 100 – GPU full 10. 496 FP 32 – units of account. There are also 5. 248 INT 32 – ALUs, 328 Third generation tensor cores and 82 RT Cores of the second generation, which are suitable for the Responsible for the hardware acceleration of the ray tracing calculations.

In addition to the large expansion stage of the GPU, the 24 GB to GDDR6X certainly the highlight of every GeForce RTX 3090. With a measure of 1. 219 MHz and one 384 Bit wide memory interface, the memory comes to a memory bandwidth of 936 GB / s.

ASUS raises for the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 OC the power limit of 350 on 390 W an. However, there is also a further increase to 480 W possible – none of the new cards that we have tested so far offered more leeway.
