If you really want to play Fortnite on your Apple mobile device, you may soon have the opportunity to do so again. The graphics card specialist Nvidia will soon be launching a variant of its game streaming service GeForce Now, which will also run in the Safari browser on iPhone and iPad. As the British BBC noticed, the Battle Royale hit could also be available here, which would thus come back to Apple devices through the back door.

From 5,50 Euro per month – but also with a free phase GeForce Now can be used free of charge for one hour per month if you creates an account. Longer sessions currently cost 5 50 euros per month. Fortnite is already part of the offer. If you want to be there for six months, you currently pay 27, 45 Euro as advance payment. At the moment the service is only available for Apple users with Mac, mobile it can only be used on Android devices.

An official announcement from GeForce Now for Safari -Browser is currently not available. Observers expect a start this winter. This is technically feasible – there is already a special browser for Google’s Stadia game service for iOS and Microsoft is also working on a similar solution for its Xbox game streaming service. Apple now allows the use of game controllers.

Possible, but not yet fully clarified Nvidia currently does not comment on whether Fortnite is actually offered in the browser. The title was temporarily removed on Android devices last December. An Nvidia spokesman told the BBC that the game was “not confirmed” beyond Mac, PC and Android. You don’t comment on new titles and their availability either.
