Foxconn founds e-mobility company
Source: Hardware Luxx added 15th Jan 2021Already in the recent past, Hardwareluxx reported that Apple is currently in various discussions with companies regarding a possible cooperation in the production of the Apple car. The iPhone Group’s electric car is expected to hit the market in 2027. Now Apple’s supplier Foxconn seems to have recognized the great business potential with electromobility as well. For this reason, the Taiwanese technology company has now teamed up with the Chinese car maker Geely and founded a new joint venture. The shares were divided equally between the parties. Each company holds 48% of the new company.
What exactly the newly founded company will manufacture is still unknown. However, Foxconn could also supply corresponding products for Apple’s car. Currently, it can be assumed that Apple is anything but happy about the possible collaboration with Hyundai becoming known. In addition, Foxconn and Apple have been working together for years, which could simplify the implementation of the Apple car. It remains to be seen whether the joint venture has enough technical know-how.
Even if e-mobility is still in its infancy, this will be a rosy one Certificated future. With the ongoing climate change and global warming of the earth, electric cars should now drastically reduce the CO2 emissions they emit. At the moment, however, it remains to be seen whether the electric drive will actually prevail over fossil fuels. If this is the case, the new joint venture between Foxconn and Geely has a golden future.
