The US game developer Take-Two Interactive is taking over its British counterpart Codemasters. The transaction has a volume of 759 million British pounds, converted to 851 million euros.

Codemasters, founded 1986, offers racing games such as F1, Project Cars and Dirt Rally. According to the announcement, the management wants to stay on board even after the takeover and cooperate with the Take Two subsidiary 2K Games. 2K is known for the simulation game Sid Meier’s Civilization, among other things, but also has sports titles on offer.

Take-Two assumes that the portfolios of both companies are complementary and is convinced that Codemasters can improve sales and marketing. The takeover should be completed in the coming quarter.
