After the first signs of the last few weeks, according to new rumors Nvidia would be preparing four models of GPU Ampere intended for notebooks . According to the rumors, the US company would have started communicating the first specifications to the partners, in view of an announcement that could arrive early next year.
The new GeForce RTX range 30 mobile should initially rely on the GeForce RTX 3080, GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3060 , with the first two initially only in the Max-Q version (optimized to consume and heat less), while the third in both the Max-Q and Max-P variants, designed to offer greater performance.
Which GPUs will Nvidia use ?
There is no concrete information on the specifications , but Nvidia generally tries to replicate the solution numbers as much as possible desktop also in the mobile field. This time, however, things could change, at least as regards the RTX 3080, as replicating the specifications would require the use of a GA GPU 102 (apparently not suitable for the notebook sector): the GA 104 stops at 6144 CUDA core in its full configuration, compared to 8704 CUDA RTX core 3080.
At the moment, based on the previous rumors, the only information of any value is related to the memory that will accompany the RTX 3070 mobile, which should be of type GDDR6 and set to 12 Gbps, instead of 14 Gbps as the desktop card coming in the next few days. This model, however, should be based on the GA GPU 104.
As for the GeForce RTX 3060, the mobile solution could adopt a GA GPU 104 or an unpublished GA 106. All that remains is to wait for more information, also on the platform on which we will find these GPUs: it seems that despite Intel expecting the arrival of solutions
