Glorious Model O 2 Pro 4K/8KHz Edition Review
Source: Tech Power Up added 06th Apr 2024Introduction
Established in 2014, Glorious is a peripherals company based in the United States. The Model O 2 Pro 4K/8KHz Edition does several things differently from the Model O 2 Wireless. Most importantly, it does without both RGB lighting and holes in the shell, yet manages to achieve a weight of no more than 59 g. While the shape is mostly unchanged, the Model O 2 Pro 4K/8KHz Edition doesn’t have the main buttons framed by ledges, thus landing closer to the original Model O in terms of design. For the main buttons, optical switches from RAESHA rated for 100 million clicks are used instead of Kailh GM 8.0 mechanical switches. The main benefit of optical switches lies in their inability to ever develop double-clicking due to wear and tear. Much like on the Model O 2 Wireless, the BAMF 2.0 sensor is used, which is a rebranded PixArt PAW3395 capable of 26,000 CPI. Unlike the former, however, the Model O 2 Pro 4K/8KHz Edition is capable of polling rates in excess of 1000 Hz. In wired operation, up to 8000 Hz is possible, whereas wireless supports up to 4000 Hz. Battery life differs accordingly: Glorious cites up to 80 hours at 1000 Hz and up to 35 hours at 4000 Hz. Unlike on the Model O 2 Wireless, Bluetooth isn’t supported. The feet are still made of pure PTFE, and software configuration is done in Glorious Core. The Model O 2 Pro 4K/8KHz Edition is available in either black or white.
