The trade war between China and the US that led to the veto of the American country against the technology company Huawei meant that, among other limitations, the brand’s new terminals could not use Google services on Android, leaving them out of the Play Store, Google Maps, Youtube, etc. Huawei’s response was to develop its own HMS services and a new operating system of its own, which in the future they plan to make compatible with Android Apps, called Harmony OS.

Although it seems that things could calm down between the US and China with the new administration, and Huawei intends to continue supporting Android, the company continues with plans to deploy Harmony OS 2.0 on various devices and has announced that the 18 December will see the first beta of Harmony OS for its latest flagships, the Huawei Mate 40 and its PRO or RS variants.

Al Mate 40 will be followed by others 48 devices to be updated to Harmony OS

It had already leaked on your day a list with the first mobiles s of the company to receive the update, among which were the Mate 40. Being the latest terminals of the brand launched on the market, it is logical that the company prioritizes them when launching new software.

The company’s plans are to launch this beta on 18, although the date is provisional and could be delayed. In addition, it will not begin to reach all users in the Asian country until January and February. If there are no surprises, Mate 40 will be followed by the rest of the 48 devices the company planned to upgrade.
