Smart radiator thermostats promise a remedy. Unlike conventional controllers, they can be controlled via sensors and automatics. If you would like it to be warmer or cooler spontaneously, apps and voice commands help you comfortably reach a comfortable temperature.

We wanted to know which clever operating aids twelve smart radiator thermostats have to offer, how easily these functions can be accessed and when the investment pays off. In comparison, there was a mix of premium and budget models from AVM, Eurotronic, Eve Systems, Fibaro, Gigaset, Homematic IP, Livisi (formerly Innogy), Netatmo, Revolt, Tado, Telekom and Wiser.

Easy construction Mounting on the radiator is relatively easy everywhere. Unscrew the old thermostat, tighten the new one. Sometimes you need a pipe wrench, but mostly manual use is sufficient. Almost all devices fit the valve directly. Only with Netatmo you absolutely need one of the enclosed adapters.
