Microservices communicate via standardized APIs. The Python frameworks Flask and Flask-RESTPlus enable developers to easily create REST APIs.

High-quality APIs are more important than ever, because more and more companies are relying on microservices that communicate with each other via interfaces. The interaction of the individual services significantly determines the quality of the entire system. For this purpose, software developers now mainly use the REST (Representational State Transfer) architecture style. This is based on the principles of the World Wide Web and describes the lightweight communication between services in the network.

For the Python programming language, extensive frameworks are available with Flask and Flask-RESTPlus with which the Developing REST APIs is easy.
