heise offer: c't photography 6/2020: photo calendar in the test
Source: Heise.de added 02nd Nov 2020Whether as a personal review of the year or a Christmas gift, calendars with your own pictures are among the most popular products of the photo service providers, along with photo books and large ducks. Now is exactly the right time to prepare for it. Once the pictures have been selected, the question arises: Which provider do I entrust my photos to in order to receive the highest possible quality and at the same time affordable calendar.
Photo calendars are a great gift. But where do you get the best calendars?
In the current issue, the c’t photography 6 / 2020 we took a close look at nine print service providers. In addition to the market leader Cewe, there are competitors Pixum, Myphotobook and Happy Foto (Austria), as well as discounters such as Aldi, Lidl and Tchibo. We have also included Saal digital and whitewall in the test field, they stand for high quality standards.
A conclusion from the test: The print quality is consistently good and there are only a few visible deviations, especially one large part of the providers use the same photo paper. However, there are bigger differences in the versions of the calendars, with or without a cover picture, with or without a cardboard back. In addition, the format is sometimes designed differently – A3 is sometimes larger and sometimes smaller than usual. A tip: In autumn the prices are often cheaper than right before Christmas.
