heise offer: Online workshop: Secure emails with DANE and DNSSEC

Source: Heise.de added 17th Dec 2020

In the interactive iX – online course DNSSEC in practice, the Unix, mail and DNS expert Patrick Ben Koetter teaches the basics of DNSSEC, TLS / SSL transport encryption and DANE. In practical exercises, admins and security officers learn how to implement DNSSEC and DANE with the name server bind9 and the mail server postfix.

DANE (DNS-based Authentication of Named Entities) is a protocol standardized by the IETF that uses the DNS security extension DNSSEC to ensure the identity of mail servers. This enables secure TLS / SSL-encrypted mail communication that cannot be attacked by inserting a manipulated X. 509 certificate.

The online course will take place on February 5th 2021 using video conferencing software. A browser and an SSH client to access the training systems are sufficient to participate. It is possible at any time during the course to ask the speaker questions and to exchange ideas with the other participants. The speaker Carsten Strotmann specializes in Unix systems, DNS, DNSSEC and IPv6 security. If you book by 8 January 2021 you will receive 10 Percent early bird discount. The course is limited to 20 participants.
