When buying, you usually don’t pay special attention to either of them, even though they make a significant contribution to your well-being. Frequent typists are inhibited in their creative urge by tendinitis, tense shoulders and wrist pain – up to and including occupational disability. The editors have therefore tested six keyboards from Logitech, Microsoft, Razer and Sharkoon with regard to whether they are suitable for prolific writers.

With traditional ergonomic specifications, gaming keyboards are less precise. Nevertheless, tamed variants of gaming keyboards have found their way into prolific writers. Razer and Sharkoon are also better known by gamers.

Mechanical Switch The good reputation of gaming keyboards has a reason: In they often have mechanical buttons with solid metal springs, some even with a click function. In cheap keyboards, rubber or silicone molds under the keycaps take over the suspension and bring the pressed key back up again after the stop. Keyboards with the so-called rubber dome technology are already available for a slim tens: They are not only inexpensive, but often also very quiet.
