The advantages and disadvantages of the home office have been extensively examined, as well as the associated security risks or the effects of the home office on the Internet. Now a market research institute on behalf of the security specialist CyberArk 2000 asked home workers in Germany, France, Great Britain and the USA about their behavior in matters of security.

The results are likely to make some security officers sleep poorly. More than half of the respondents (59%) stated that they circumvent the company’s security guidelines in order to work more productively: For example, they send company documents to their personal e- E-mail addresses, pass on passwords to colleagues or install additional, actually not permitted applications on computers used for work.

91% of the respondents stated that they use identical passwords in different places – in this case a stolen password is enough to give the thief access to various services, devices and applications. 54% use company devices for private activities. 34% allow other members of their household to use company equipment for activities such as playing games or ordering online.

According to CyberArk, shows According to the study, employees lacked knowledge of the risks of certain behaviors – even though half of the respondents stated that they had already participated in special security training for remote work.
