Huawei prepares a smartphone charger capable of reaching 135W of power
Source: Geeknetic added 04th Jan 2021The race to achieve the fastest charging system for a smartphone seems to have become a priority in recent years, behind were “competitions” to see who implemented the most curved panel or the largest number of cameras in a mobile terminal However, the limited autonomy of current mobiles means that companies have bet everything to charge the highest number of mAh in the shortest possible time.
Huawei has just certified in its country of origin , China, a charging system with a power of nothing more and nothing less than 135 W, more than double what a conventional laptop charger usually offers. The charger is named HW – 200675 CP0.
This Huawei charger is capable of deliver 20 V to 6, 75 Amps to reach 135 W of power
According to the certification, this charger can offer loads to 20 Volts with an intensity of 6, 75 Amps , that is, 20 x 6, 66 = 135 W maximum power.
Naturally, the charger supports more modest charging modes to ensure compatibility with other devices and modes, specifically, in the certification we can see the following modes:
- 5V x 3A = 15 W
- 9V x 3A = 27 W
- 12 V x 5A = 60 W
- 15 V x 5A = 75 W
- 20 V x 4.7A = 94 W
- 20 V x 6, 66 A = 135 W
It is expected that it will arrive together with new terminals of the brand, perhaps with the next generation of the P range, which except surprise should be named Huawei P 50, P 50 Pro and other variants, or even in the range Matte 50. Currently, Xiaomi already has technologies capable of reaching 120 W of charging power, and Vivo also has shown similar technology.
With those 135 W, Huawei will achieve twice the charging power than the one with its most capable terminals today, with 66 W. Hopefully it will also serve to power the company’s Matebook laptops, something that already happened with the previous chargers of 66 W.
