New features for Cloud Pak for Security of IBM are coming by the end of ‘year. Launched last year, IBM’s open security solution aiming to unify enterprise security approach to the multi-cloud world will integrate six threat intelligence feed , 25 pre-set connections to both IBM and third-party data sources and 165 Case management integrations that leverage AI to categorize threats.
IBM Cloud Pak for Security: a single tool to manage corporate security
The new IBM Cloud Pak for Security update that will be launched by the end of 2020 will contain innovations that go above all in the direction of solidifying the corporate defenses ensuring greater visibility.
IBM has indeed created a data security center that allows analysts to obtain information detailed information on where the data resides, who has access to it, how it is used and the best strategies to protect it. This allows you to better control your data and decrease response times in the event of breaches – currently the average time to identify and contain them is six months.
Cloud Pak for Security has the ambitious goal of becoming the focal point of security, since it will also integrate threat intelligence feeds on the basis of which it will be possible to plan the corporate strategy. These feeds will allow security experts in the company to obtain information on threats under development around the world and will so check for traces indicating that an attack is in progress. Integrated feeds are AlienVault OTX, Cisco Threatgrid, MaxMind Geolocation, SANS Internet StormCenter, and Virustotal. In this way, only one tool, rather than many, will be enough to manage the security information.
A further novelty is the new services that will be launched during the last quarter, with particular attention to those that will help companies modernize their approach to security using Cloud Pak for Security, intervening at every stage from deployment to threat management with consulting and integration support services.
The possibility of integrating additional components, both from IBM and from third parties, is one of the strengths of the solution, which can collect data from various sources thanks to its open nature and the use of artificial intelligence techniques, analytics and automation.
“Complexity is the biggest challenge our industry is facing, as it obliges those responsible for security , often underfunded, to try to manually connect the insights coming from the most disparate tools and sources “ said Justin Youngblood , vice president of IBM Security. “Cloud Pak for Security is an open platform, which leverages cloud native technologies throughout the infrastructure to connect any tool to the security ecosystem. With these new capabilities, IBM will be the first in the industry to connect threat intelligence from external sources and threat management themselves with data security
