The Package »

Nowadays it’s not easy to stand out in the jam-packed gaming monitor market, but INNOCN thinks it has a solution. The INNOCN 39G1R is a sub-$500 monitor with a massive 38.5-inch curved VA panel, a refresh rate of 165 Hz, claimed 99% sRGB gamut, Picture-in-Picture, and Picture-by-Picture capabilities, and even an integrated ambient lighting system.

The sheer size of the panel is what INNOCN sees as its key selling point, and they’re not in the wrong. If you search for 39-inch gaming monitors, you’ll quickly realize there’s only one other such device available on the market, the Deco Gear VIEW390. It’s likely based on the same panel as the INNOCN 39G1R but seems to have a stripped-down feature set, i.e. no PiP and PbP modes. Coming in at around $400 at the time of this writing, it’s even less expensive than the $450 INNOCN 39G1R, but as I didn’t get a chance to test it, I can’t comment on their practical differences or do a relevant comparison of their value for your money.

Back to the INNOCN 39G1R. One other interesting fact regarding this monitor is the native 2560×1440 resolution of its panel. By steering clear of the 4K resolution, INNOCN made their monitor interesting to gamers with value-oriented gaming rigs, which is completely in line with the price bracket that the 39G1R positions itself in. If you’re after the largest possible high refresh rate gaming monitor for as little money as possible, read on to find out if the INNOCN 39G1R has what it takes to fulfill your needs.
