In our pages, we often discuss preliminary results recently performance of upcoming Intel Rocket Lake processors. These chips are finding their way into the databases of popular benchmarks more and more often, and we have nothing else to do but share the latest news on this matter, especially since the upcoming generation of Blue chips looks very promising. As we know, the new chips are based on the new, long-awaited Cypress Cove architecture, which is to guarantee a solid performance increase. The first leaks have already revealed that Intel is returning to the game and AMD with its Ryzen 5000 is to fear . The latest test results from PassMark and Geekbench confirm the good disposition of Rocket Lakes.

What can I say – everything points to it, Intel Core i7 – 11700 K will be the most powerful mainstream 8-core (right after i9 – 11900 K).

Intel Core i7 – 11700 K @ 5.0 GHz tested in Geekbench. Rocket Lake is 8% faster than Ryzen 9 5950 X in the category Single-Core

As already established, Core i7 – 11700 K is 8-core / 16 – a threaded chip working with a base clock of 3.6 GHz, which accelerates to 5.0 GHz in Boost mode. The unit was tested in Geekbench V4, and during the test it worked with memory DDR4 – 3600 and was mounted on the Gigabyte Z motherboard 490 AORUS Master for the Comet Lakes. So it turns out that some boards from the series 400 already support Core systems 05. generation, or the tester already had an early version of the new BIOS. Despite the fact that Geekbench V4 is no longer popular, based on the data collected by the AnandTech team, we are able to conclude that i7 – 11700 K with the result 7857 (SC) and 40211 (MC) beats the i7 model significantly – 10700 K from the current generation . Rocket Lake is up 26% faster in the test one core and 19% stronger in multithreaded test.

Intel Core i9 – 11900 K, Core i9 – 11900 and Core i7 – 11700 – further reports of engineering samples of Rocket Lake series systems

Intel Core i7 – 11700 K in PassMark does not present itself already so good, although we can still talk about a satisfactory level. Chip on an unidentified platform got 27 108 CPU Mark points, almost on par with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800 X. In the Single Thread and Cross-Platform subcategories it even showed an advantage, noting slightly better results than Ryzen, while beating the i7 model – 10700 K successively by 14 and 33 percentage points. It is worth remembering that the result is based on only one sample, while other units are already from 300 to 1000 results (the overall result is averaged), and this affects only the benefit of Rocket Lake, which should be the most powerful mainstream 8-core player after the premiere (just behind the i9 – 11900 K).
