It is possible that a change in the top management of Intel may already take place during the first 3 months of 2021 , with current CEO Bob Swan destined to leave the company in which has been operating in this position since January 2019, having acted as interim CEO for the previous 7 months following the Brian Krzanich’s exit.

Bob Swan joined Intel in 2016 , acting as CFO (Chief Executive Officer) and accepting the appointment as temporary CEO to half 2018. In the following months, the board of directors of the company had looked for a figure to whom to confer the position of CEO, running aground after an unsuccessful search and offering the final position to Swan.

Indiscretions appeared online for some time indicate the Intel board of directors looking for a new guide, which can intervene to solve most of the problems encountered by the company in recent years . In particular, Intel suffered from strong competitive pressure from market competitors due to the difficulties encountered in the production of chips with production technology in 10 nanometers.

in its internal roadmaps. New delays have already been communicated also for the next technological leap, that of production with 7 nanometer technology.

They would be 4 the candidates highlighted by the company’s board of directors , with one that has so far been deemed unsuitable and therefore rejected. We will see in the coming months what decision the board of directors will come to and whether Bob Swan is destined to pass the baton. The latter is a figure specialized in the company’s business and financial activities, lacking in his academic career the technological specialization that perhaps is required of those who will have to guide a company as technologically driven as Intel to future growth.
