iPhone 12 beats Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in speed test … with half the RAM

The new iPhones 12 seem to be very powerful, according to the first speed tests, compared to competition with Android operating system. Thanks to the Apple A processor 14 Bionic, but also to a ecosystem now valid and super-efficient

The struggle between Apple and Samsung , competitors in the smartphone market but also in fact also seems a bit anachronistic business partners. However, the two brands continue to challenge each other and above all from South Korea the first digs towards the Apple have already started. Samsung recently made fun of Apple by claiming that it not only offers the charger with its own flagships, but guarantees the best “cameras, batteries, performance and memory”. But is it true?
As measured by PhoneBuff it seems that Samsung has bluffed , since the Apple A 14 iPhone Bionic 12 Pro managed to get past the Snapdragon 865 + installed on Galaxy Note Ultra from Samsung (US version) in the speed test conducted. Apple A 14 Bionic is the first on the smartphone market to be made with a 5-nm production process, it is present on all four iPhones of the new range, and is the most powerful ever integrated on an iPhone.

This is enough for him to place himself even in front of all the competition direct, since it ousted Galaxy Note 20 Ultra from the first place of the PhoneBuff ranking. How much? 17 seconds within the two “rounds” of the test: 2 minutes and 24 seconds for iPhone 12 Pro, 2 minutes and 41 seconds for Galaxy Notes 20 Ultra with Snapdragon 865 +. And this with half the RAM , an important factor since the PhoneBuff test is based on the opening of a series of applications in sequence, and their reopening after keeping them in the background for the duration of the test.
It is clearly one atypical speed test and which does not clearly establish a winner in terms of absolute performance between the two smartphones, also because the final result can also be subject to the type of applications used and their optimization on the two different operating systems. The result, however, demonstrates, once again, the advantage of Apple for having believed from the beginning in its ecosystem based on hardware and software developed in house.
iPhone 12 Pro also has a list price of 300 lower dollars than Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, 200 dollars if we consider the Pro Max variant, more in line in terms of size with the Korean “phablet” which however has double the storage memory. Also iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini however, which cost less, implement the new Apple A processor 14 Bionic and the differences in performance should be quite small.
