The players control buildings and units, collect resources and use them to build an army to defeat their opponents. Especially the setting called “Diesel Punk” is a special feature of “Iron Harvest”. It takes place in a world inspired by Eastern Europe around the year , in which war machines as high as a house determine the war between three factions.

Unlike originally planned, the prizes could not be awarded at a festive gala – the reason was the corona pandemic. Instead, the organizers opted for an online show. The German Developer Award is considered to be the oldest award in the German games industry. It has been awarded since 2004. The jury is made up of people from different branches of the German game scene – such as programmers, journalists and influencers.
