KFConsole is a computer that allows us to play in 4K resolution and / or in 240 frames. Oh, and we'll heat the chicken too
Source: Pure PC added 23rd Dec 2020There is probably no better connection than gaming and tasty food (or drinking, but there is always a risk of flooding the desk or lowering your reflex in the case of a certain type of drink). The KFC restaurant chain, which has just come back with an idea for April Fool’s Day, is probably also aware of it. The first information about the hybrid console-computer-heater appeared in June this year, but today it is certain that it was not a joke. New information has emerged on the subject of the bucket-shaped structure with wings. The equipment we play on and that will heat our chicken is created in cooperation with brands such as Intel, Cooler Master, ASUS and Seagate.

KFConsole is based on the case / cartridge (as he called, so called) Intel NUC 9 Extreme, having a motherboard, processor and RAM memory. The manufacturer has equipped the “bucket” with an ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 MINI graphics card and a Seagate BarraCuda SSD 1TB drive. The exact parameters of the Intel NUC 9 Extreme kit have not yet been presented, but as we know, the unit offers an Intel Core i9 processor – 9980 HK and for 64 GB of RAM clocked up to 2666 MHz in two modules. The equipment is supposed to support VR goggles, play freely in 4K resolution at 240 frames per second and the full use of ray tracing in games, although what obvious – not simultaneously.

The real distinguishing feature of the “tinplate” is, however, that its housing also has a special compartment for chicken wings (it is said that it is a patented solution which is to prevent the food from cooling down). Initially, KFConsole was treated as a parody of the incoming new-generation consoles, but today there is no doubt that the product will appear on the market. The question remains when and how much it will cost. And now I leave you with the latest video teaser that says more than a thousand words of a hungry editor.
