Konica Minolta launches a global cloud print service to manage the entire print infrastructure of its customers from a single source. Customers outsource their entire printing environment to Konica Minolta’s cloud. The manufacturer then takes over the central management of the entire print infrastructure of the customer.

The cloud print is hosted in a German data center in Frankfurt and should be certified according to ISO 27001: 27017. This means that all data remain within the legal area of ​​the European Union. The GDPR is implemented and the print infrastructure is kept up to date.

If a user sends his print job, the document is transferred to the cloud, from where the user can access it on the desired multifunctional system. There he prints it out with Follow-Me authentication. Details can be found in the provider’s announcement.

Integration on several levels Konica Minolta promises an increased security level and that No initial investment, for example in user management of the print infrastructure. The global print service is based on the IWS technology of the IT-5 and IT-6 systems from Konica Minolta. Only the services actually used should be billed.

In addition, the cloud print service is integrated into the bizhub Evolution cloud platform from Konica Minolta. This allows users to send their print jobs in four different ways: either via the bizhub Evolution homepage, via a browser app, via a sidebar on the edge of the screen or using a printer driver from the respective application.

In the next step, Konica Minolta wants to include the Universal Print Service in its cloud print service.
