In the run-up to the consumer electronics fair CES 2021, LG launched the 2021 generation of the Announced Gram Notebook Series. The series appears in three sizes with display diagonals of 17, 16 (instead of before 15, 6) and 14 Inch. In future, all three will use screens in the higher 16: 10 format – in the 1750 generation only the 17 – Zöller one such. With almost complete coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, the displays should show accurate colors.

LG uses Intel’s latest Core i for the processors – 1100 G alias Tiger Lake-U, but does not name any exact models yet. The predecessors included the Ice Lake U models Core i7 – 1065 G7 and Core i5 – 1035 G7 used, always with four CPU cores and eight threads thanks to Hyper-Threading.

All models with 16 GByte RAM Also new: All sizes will be available with 16 GByte LPDDR4X-RAM. So far, LG only offered the capacity for the 17 – Zöller and limited all other notebooks to 8 GB. Two M.2 SSDs with PCI Express connection can be built into each model.

The low weight values ​​are retained, so that the Gram 17 with 1.3 kg weighs just as much as many others 13, 3- or 14 – inch. The 16 – inch model Gram 16 weighs just under 1.2 kg – slightly more than its predecessor with 15, 6 inches -Display in flatter 16: 9 format. The grief 14 remains at just under 1 kg.

Thunderbolt 4 with USB 4 The update from Ice Lake-U to Tiger Lake-U is accompanied by the use of Thunderbolt 4. Each 2020 he-Gram notebook has two corresponding ports in the form of USB-C connections, which also support USB 4, USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort image transmission . There are also two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 GBit / s) with type A connections, a micro SD card reader and an audio combination jack. Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN 802. 11 ax) and fingerprint sensors complete the features.

LG has not yet commented on prices and availability. The 2020 notebooks currently cost around 1100 to 1750 Euro.
