LG Rollable – a smartphone with a retractable screen. Premiere soon
Source: Pure PC added 05th Nov 2020We already know what the world’s first smartphone with a flexible drop-down screen will be officially called. LG registered the name in the European patent office EUIPO. Based on the number of categories to which LG Rollable has been assigned, we can expect not one, or even several different devices. Thanks to the Let’s Go Digital website, we can, of course, only approximately, find out how visually interesting the equipment an innovative smartphone will be. The problem is that the eye-catching form does not have to be real useful in everyday use. I am writing this as a user who has had the opportunity to test all phones with folding screens available on our market.
LG Rollable, this will be the name of the latest smartphone with a foldable screen from a South Korean manufacturer. However, the company may not stop at one device category.

LG patents a smartphone with a foldable flexible display
LG Wing with two screens, including one rotated by 90 degrees, is the first smartphone from the “Project Explorer” series. This series is to be characterized by an innovative form that will distinguish the equipment from basically all the competition. Another model may be LG Rollable. This is how the Korean smartphone will be officially called, which will use the world’s first rolling screen in the world of smart phones. It is difficult to imagine today how such an original design could work and look, which is why the concept art presented by Let’s Go Digital is very helpful.

LG Wing: Official Polish price of a smartphone with a rotating screen
The smartphone, which will probably debut around March next year, will receive an expandable OLED screen providing a large working space without the need to increase the dimensions of the device. The idea looks great, but the graphics attached to the post leave too many questions. One of them concerns the durability of this type of solution. I am afraid that we would have to handle it like an egg, which will significantly affect the usability of the equipment. Remember, however, that concept art is only a vision, not the actual shape of the product. We have to wait for the first reliable reports on the appearance of LG Rollable to evaluate the designers’ vision, even the initial one.
