Business customers and educational institutions can now hold video conferences at mailbox.org. The provider relies on the free software Jitsi, which is GDPR-compliant and runs exclusively on servers in Germany.

Companies can use up to 25 Receive users in a meeting, mailbox.org has removed this limit for schools 50 participants. Those who want to hold larger meetings with up to 84 users can inquire about this individually with the provider. Each account can now start up to two conferences.

Always password-protected In an FAQ, mailbox.org has details on Software and integration in your own cloud environment combined. Among other things, a Chromium-based browser or the use of the freely available Jitsi apps are recommended, and each room must be password-protected. At the start, the resolution of the video transmission from three participants on is 427 × 240 Pixel limited.

The other functions such as the integrated chat or screen sharing for presentations corresponds to the regular Jitsi Software. At the end of September mailbox.org had already introduced video conferences for individual tariffs and with up to 10 users. A business account is required for the larger variant, the meetings up to March 1st are included 2020 from the 1 euro tariff, then the 2, 50 – Euro option is necessary.
