Martin Schroeter was senior vice president of global markets and chief financial officer at IBM between 2014 on 2017, managing assets for more than 37 billions of dollars. He left the company in June 2020, but has now been chosen by Arvind Krishna to lead the NewCo that will be born from the rib dedicated to the infrastructure services of IBM.

The announcement of the split was made in October and it seems that the plan is going on well, with the conclusion of the path planned for the end of 2021. IBM will thus be able to focus more on the cloud and other research and development activities, such as quantum computers.

Krishna commented: “Martin has the strategic vision and judgment to realize the enormous potential of the NewCo as a global leader in managed infrastructure services. He is an inspiring and results-driven executive , as well as the right CEO to guide the NewCo through the spin-off process and beyond. “
