The project of the same name describes its new offer as Mattermost Cloud, with which users can obtain the messaging platform as a SaaS application. The developer takes over the complete operation of the application, including the administration of the updates and infrastructure. Amazons provides the latter with AWS Virtual Private Cloud, which is supposed to safely isolate resources from each other.

Some areas of the technical equipment depend on the license: Exclusively With the Enterprise version, the customer receives a private instance including a dedicated infrastructure and a permanently assigned region for his data. In addition, there is a not quite as extensive professional license, which, in addition to the regular Mattermost functions, also includes fault management. It costs ten US dollars a month per user. The free access corresponds to the latter variant, but it is limited to up to ten users. Each user receives 20 GB of storage space for his account, regardless of the license.

Mattermost is concerned is an open source project competing with Microsoft Teams and Slack. It can also be operated completely in its own data center.
