Just a few months ago, MediaTek announced its SoC Dimensity 720, a processor designed for mid-range smartphones, but which did not renounce the compatibility of 5G networks. Now, the company has announced a somewhat cheaper model, the Dimensity 700 , with which they want to bring 5G to terminals with lower cost.
The MediaTek Dimensity 700 with 5G has 8 cores and support for screens of 90 HZ.
This SoC is manufactured at 7 nanometers and the CPU part has 8 cores, two ARM Cortex-A 76 at 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A 55 at 2 GHz for lower consumption tasks. The graphic part is provided by a Mali-G GPU 57 MC2 capable of managing screens up to 90 Hz with extended FullHD resolution of 2. 520 x 1080 pixels. It does not lack an AI acceleration system called Mediatek APU like the one we saw in other processors of the company.
Supports LPDDR4X memories with a maximum of 12 GB capacity and, in terms of photographic sensors, can handle two cameras of 16 MP or one of 64 MP.
5G connectivity is provided by your built-in modem, with support for dual SIM 5G, an ultra-low power mode, and Carrier Aggregation 2CC 5G-Ca. Regarding WiFi connectivity, it supports WiFi-ac (WiFi-5) and Bluetooth 5.1.
At the moment we do not know which terminals will reach the market with this processor, but it may not take more than a few few months to be seen by the market.
