Data is almost the most valuable today. Their transmission and contact with each other are the basis for the functioning of companies around the world. One of the giants in the field of data transmission is Microsoft. It has a global network of over 160 miles that help billions of people in the world connect with each other. Still, many places on our planet are areas where it is impossible to lay a cable network, and the terrain is difficult and unfavorable. To address such problems, the Redmond giant announced a new, innovative Azure Space project. It is supposed to be a “partner ecosystem focused on the development of satellite services” – in fact, a cloud with powerful computing power.

Microsoft is taking another spectacular step towards the development of cloud computing with the announcement of Azure Space. The new initiative aims to provide innovative solutions to meet the needs of the space industry and numerous private and public sector organizations.

Linux 5.9 – new version officially. Here is the list of changes and news

Azure Space is a Microsoft project that builds on a partnership with SpaceX Starlink to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband satellite access to the new Azure Modular Data Center (MDC). The implementation of Azure Stack, which makes many organizations use cloud computing. Microsoft has a long history of testing databases in extreme environments. One such solution is the Natick research project, which is based on an underwater data center. Building on this experience and information from its customers with the most stringent environmental requirements, the new modular Microsoft Az data center ure Modular Datacenter (MDC) represents even more progress in this field.

NASA and SpaceX: Commercial Crew Dragon mission coming in October

The power of Azure is not only about databases. SpaceX and Microsoft want to go a step further and use its computing power to build missile threat detection systems, simulate a massive satellite constellation with AI software, and test artificial intelligence in various system environments. Azure can also mimic the entire satellite network, including complex real-time image generation using previously collected satellite images. As you can see, Azure is a huge collaborative ecosystem. The Microsoft and SpaceX approach is designed to meet one of the toughest technological challenges faced by humans in space, namely handling the massive amount of data generated from satellites, delivering cloud services and bandwidth to the most remote locations. Azure will also allow the design of very complex space systems based on the most advanced AI.
