Introduction

MOONDROP is quite possibly the most well-known and popular of all the Asian in-ear monitor brands, so much so that it’s leveraged this success by branching out into headphones and keyboards too. My own coverage of MOONDROP products began with the single-DD KATO that occupied the $200 market quite well and remains one of my preferred sets to date. Everything since then has been less expensive than the KATO to where people started to see a race towards the bottom emerging, be it with the STELLARIS at $110, the Aria, Aria Snow Edition, and Sparks at $80, and then the more budget-friendly sets including Chu, Quarks DSP, Nekocake, Droplet, and LAN. Needless to say, with the rest of the market putting out IEMs like there’s no tomorrow at various different price ranges, people were eagerly anticipating an update to MOONDROP’s more premium offerings.

The Blessing2 was perhaps what helped cement MOONDROP’s status for putting out well-tuned IEMs with good technical performance too. This hybrid driver set of IEMs was soon followed up with the Blessing2:Dusk—a collaboration with IEM influencer Crinacle—that became a benchmark at the $300 price point and remains as much today. There are few complaints from customers and reviewers alike for these sets, except perhaps that the shells and nozzles could be more comfortable. I have not heard either of those admittedly but when MOONDROP started teasing the new Blessing 3 with an all-new dynamic driver setup, I was quick to make my interest in covering it known to the brand. Thanks to MOONDROP and SHENZHENAUDIO for providing a review sample to TechPowerUp as we aim to see whether all the excitement is merited in our review today which begins with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
