MSI has introduced another gaming monitor for esports players. I’m talking about MSI Optix G 242, in which the model name from “MAG “, Which proves a higher segment. The newly presented monitor is intended for less wealthy players, but the manufacturer tried to maintain an appropriate value for money. MSI Optix G 242 offers 23, 8 inch Full HD screen with IPS matrix, frequency screen refresh 144 Hz, low response time (1 ms GtG ) and support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). So it has what is most needed for dynamic games. The new monitor from the Optix series is also an almost frameless design, which can be an additional advantage for many users. MSI Optix G Specification 189 does not make a particular impression. The monitor brightness is 250 nits, static contrast 1000: 1 is quite typical for devices of this class. As befits an IPS screen, the matrix displays 16, 7 million colors and cover 127, 7% of sRGB and 94, 6% DCI-P3. The monitor can also boast wide viewing angles (178 ° vertically and level). For adaptive sync techniques, MSI Optix G 242 supports both AMD FreeSync and and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible.

MSI has not disclosed the official price of the MSI Optix G Monitor 242, but in one of the foreign stores it was set at 189, 99 American dollars, which in Poland will translate into an amount of the order 1050 – 1200 PLN. At least at the moment, this price range appears in Polish stores for this model – it is possible that it will change by the time it is released. The device will go on sale in January 2021.
