A new leak regarding the AMD Radeon RX 6000 has surfaced, suggesting that the Navi 21 XT will use GDDR6 memory modules from Samsung and feature a 320W TBP, while the Navi 21 XL is allegedly coming with lower clocked Samsung GDDR6 modules and with a 290W TBP.
Earlier this week, we reported about a leak claiming that the Navi 21 XT GPU would feature a 255W TGP. To clarify things, for AMD, TGP (Total Graphics Power) is the GPU socket power (GFX, SOC, and VDDCI), while for Nvidia, it’s the power consumption of the whole card. This means that the 255W TGP was referring to how much power the GPU socket consumes in an AIB card, not the whole AIB card.
The new leak from Igor’sLab, refers to the card’s TGP and TBP (Total Board Power), which sums the TGP with the power consumption of the MOSFETs, inductors, capacitors, fans, PCB losses and other smaller components in a graphics card. Igor’s report claims that the Navi 21 XT-based reference graphics cards have a 235W TGP and a 320W TBP, while the factory overclocked cards should come with a 270W TGP and a 355W TBP. The Navi 21 XL-based graphics card will feature a 203W TGP and a 290W TBP. No TGP or TBP values for factory OC cards equipped with the Navi 21 XL GPU were reported.

Regarding the memory, the Navi 21 XT cards will allegedly come with GDDR6 modules clocked at 16Gbps from Samsung (K4ZAF325BM-HC16). On the other hand, the Navi 21 XL cards should be equipped with a similar memory configuration, but clocked at 14Gbps (K4ZAF325BM-HC14).
Availability was also mentioned in Igor’s report, claiming that the first AMD Radeon RX 6000 cards should be available in mid-November, with wider availability as the month ends. Apparently, the board design of the Navi 21-based cards is similar to the current solution employed in the Radeon RX 5700 XT. Given that AIB partners have been working with the RX 5700 XT for quite some time, it’s easier to develop cooling solutions for the new Radeon RX 6000 series.
AMD scheduled the announcement of the Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards for October 28th.
