New DDR4 overclock record: 7.004 MHz on Crucial Ballistix using a Ryzen 4 PRO 4650G APU
Source: Geeknetic added 24th Nov 2020We bring you today a new record in this extreme overclocking. If yesterday we told you that the RX 5950 XT had beaten the world record for 3DMark FireStrike, today it is the world’s speed record RAM memory.
Chinese Baby-j overclocker, using Crucial Ballistix Max memory of 4. 0 MHz, has managed to reach an impressive figure of 7. 004, 2 MHz speed. Naturally, to achieve this frequency, you have had to use an extreme cooling system based on liquid nitrogen, both for the CPU (where the memory controller is located) and for the memory module of 16 GB, something that escapes the vast majority of users and that does not have its application on a conventional PC.
The DDR4 speed record was achieved with a Ryzen 5 Pro APU 4650 G
With this speed validated (the overclocker has shown captures of 7. 006, 4 MHz, but has not passed validation stably. Baby- J is placed first in the world ranking, global ranking, and DDR4 ranking.
The processor used is also striking, since, in general, we are used to seeing latest-range processors such as the Ryzen 9 5950 X or the Core i9 – 10900 K en es you kind of feats. However, on this occasion, the overclocker has used an AMD APU, specifically a Ryzen 5 Pro 4650 G with integrated graphics .
