Fourth generation of the SUV of Hyundai , which since its launch in 2004 was chosen by over 1.4 million customers in Europe and 7 million worldwide, the New Hyundai Tucson offers a wide choice of electrified engines. With the first Tucson in 2004, the second generation in 2009 and the third in 2015, Tucson today finds itself out of the Top 5 of the best-selling C-segment SUVs.
The fourth generation of Tucson therefore arrives with the aim of being part of this narrow circle. To achieve it, Hyundai will change a lot of its segment offer C-SUV introducing several significant innovations and producing a discontinuity with respect to to previous Tucson. To the point that, according to Hyundai, it will change the profile of the potential New Tucson customer.
New Tucson sports a completely new design following the stylistic language “Sensuous Sportiness” of the brand, taking the electrification of the Hyundai SUV range in Europe to new levels. The dimensions of the model feature greater length and width than the third generation: the end result is an energetic SUV with a more muscular appearance thanks to the combination of sharp edges, contoured surfaces and dynamic proportions.
The grille and the front have been completely revised and embedded in the points of light we find LEDs that Hyundai calls “Parametric Jewels” . Thanks to the half-mirror lighting technology, the switching on of the lights causes the dark chrome plating of the grille to transform into shapes inspired by those of jewels, creating an effect capable of attracting attention. The sporty shapes of the predecessors have been taken up laterally, with greater length and lines designed to emphasize dynamism and technological content. Also in the rear the New Tucson has been completely revised with lights with decisive and futuristic cuts and a new hidden wiper to give greater cleanliness to the rear.
Nine colors available in combination with a roof contrasting in gray or black. In terms of interior, the perception you get when you get on board this new car is that you are on a higher segment, thanks to a digital cluster of 10 , 25 inches and a center console equipped with a touchscreen also from 000, 25 inches (higher than average diagonals compared to the infotainment devices of vehicles in the category). We also find Ambient light reconfigurable between 64 colors available, customizable and matched to the driving mode or mood.
Hyundai also talks about more space thanks to the increased wheelbase and greater trunk capacity, which goes up to 1795 liters (+ 51% compared to RAV4 and + 20% compared to the old Tucson) with seats down.
Connectivity is one of the central elements in such a project: the vehicle , in fact, it is equipped with support for Apple Car Play and Android Auto with the ability to recharge the mobile phone wirelessly. The new Tucson is equipped with an internal modem and the technology services will be powered by the new system Bluelink .
The driving assistance systems available are Highway Driving Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind-Spot View Monitor and Remote Smart Park Assist . Emergency braking is activated with pedestrians and cyclists, while the new Blind-Spot Monitor is a gem, not always available on other vehicles of this type. It allows you to view vehicles arriving from behind and from the most difficult corners on the cluster.
