The rumour mill began spinning again pretty much as soon as Nvidia announced the first batch of GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. This week, we have new details on an alleged RTX 3080Ti, as well as two mid-range SKUs based on the GA106 GPU – the RTX 3060 and RTX 3050Ti.

As per @kopite7kimi, the RTX 3060 will feature 3840 CUDA cores, meaning that it should have 30 RT cores, 120 TMUs and 120 Tensor cores. The RTX 3050Ti will allegedly feature 3540 CUDA cores, 28 RT cores, 112 TMUs, and 120 Tensor cores. Memory configurations were not mentioned, but it’s safe to assume that both will use GDDR6 memory.

If the RTX 3050Ti actually launches, it will be the first Nvidia xx50 graphics card featuring ray tracing, which might also mean that the GTX series is done for good. These SKUs are expected to release in early 2021.

Ah, the desktop cards based on GA106 will be called

RTX 3060(3840FP32)

and

RTX 3050 Ti(3584FP32).

?I don’t know if it will change in the future.

This leaker also shared updated specifications for the RTX 3080Ti, which is expected to feature the PG133-SKU15 board. The CUDA core count has apparently increased to 10496 (from 9984), matching the RTX 3090, while memory increased to 20GB GDRR6X (from 12GB) clocked at the same frequency as the RTX 3090. Based on the amount of RAM, the RTX 3080Ti should be using a 320-bit bus, similar to the RTX 3080. TGP will be the same as the RTX 3080, and just like this SKU, it won’t have NVLink.

In other news, @kopite7kimi also shared that the RTX 3070Ti has apparently been cancelled for now. Additionally, he also commented that the next Nvidia GPU architecture, named Hopper, should be based on TSMC’s 5nm process node, but it’s “too early to talk about” it.

KitGuru says: Are you looking for a mid-range graphics card? Will you be waiting to see if Nvidia releases more RTX 30 SKUs before buying a new graphics card?
