NIO ET7, the Chinese sedan that challenges Tesla Model S with an autonomy of over 1000 km

The world of electric cars continues to expand: Chinese NIO announced huge ET7 sedan, coming early 2022. The car, with a battery pack of 150 kWh arriving at the end of the same year, should have an autonomy of over 1000 kilometers.

Chinese electric car manufacturer NIO unveiled its first sedan , the ET7 , throwing the gauntlet at Tesla’s Model S – which recently introduced Model Y into the country. The Chinese company almost delivered 44 thousand cars last year and has a capitalization of market of approximately 92 billion.
The ET7 is 5 meters long, almost 2 meters wide and has a 3 meter wheelbase. The starting price of the new car of NIO is of 378. 000 yuan , approximately 58 thousand dollars, but without stock battery pack , which can be rented (and installed in a few minutes in the appropriate Battery Swap stations in the country, 500 within the year) in order to reduce the starting price of the car. Those who want to buy the car already equipped with the battery pack must spend 448. 000 yuan, or 69 thousand dollars. The prices indicated refer to the battery from 70 kWh, while for that from 100 kWh goes up to 506. 000 yuan (69 thousand dollars) , but there will also be a more expensive version of the car called the Premier Edition.
The battery is obviously one of the most important points of the NIO ET7, in fact the Chinese company offers two solutions from 70 and 78 kWh, with a third option from 150 kWh coming in the future , at the end 2022 . The first version of the battery guarantees a mileage of over 500 kilometers, while with the 78 kWh goes up to over 700 km. With the battery of 150 kWh is expected an autonomy of over 1000 kilometers. In terms of performance, thanks to a double electric motor (180 kW and 300 kW) the new sedan offers an overall power of 850 kW and 850 Nm of torque for one “from 0 to 100 “in approximately 3.9 seconds.
The NIO ET7 has a drag coefficient of 0, 23 and will be equipped with LiDAR for driving assistance, many sensors and well 11 8 megapixel cameras called NIO Aquila that allow the car to recon obscure other vehicles and pedestrians over long distances (almost 700 meters in the first case and more 200 In the second).

The first two SoCs process 8 GB of data produced by the vehicle sensors each second. The third Orin serves as a backup to ensure that the system works safely in every situation, while the fourth allows training of the local neural network, improving the car with information from the fleet and customizing the driving experience according to preferences of individual users “.
The NIO ET7 can now be pre-ordered from the NIO app in China by paying 5. 000 yuan , a deposit that ensures a denomination of 10. 000 yuan on the final price. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
