There hasn’t been so much going on in the consumer graphics card market for a long time, even if only behind the scenes. Rumors about Nvidia’s plans come out regularly online, causing quite a stir. We recently heard about the alleged cancellation of GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, GeForce RTX 3070 16 GB and GeForce RTX 3080 20 GB, and in recent days leaks have suggested that the first of these cards is to be brought back to life, but with a clearly stronger specification, closer to the GeForce RTX 3080. Now, the same source in the form of the well-known insider kopite7nymi, reports of which later often coincided with official announcements, reports that Nvidia may still release GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, based on another variant of the Ampere core – GA 102 – 250.

According to the latest rumors, Nvidia may be preparing to release a GeForce RTX graphics card 3080 Ti with 12 GB GDDR6X (348 – bit), which will fill (especially the price) gap between RTX 3080 and RTX 3090.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card test 3080 – Ampere launch!

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 from 24 GB of VRAM is more efficient than 10% up to a maximum of 20% from the much cheaper GeForce RTX 3080, so the gap is not that significant. As the source suggests, the Greens may still be tempted to release GeForce RTX 3080 Ti from 9984 CUDA cores, i.e. 1280 more than in RTX 3080, and only 512 less than RTX 3090. The card would come with 12 GB, or less likely 24 GB of GDDR6X memory per 384 – bit data bus. The GeForce RTX card 3080 Ti was featured in the rumors before and even tested engineering samples from 12 GB of VRAM and at least in performance between GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 there is not that much difference, the price difference begs you to issue one model.
