NVIDIA released the GeForce RTX 30 graphics cards based on the Ampere architecture in early September. However, the rumor mill around the additional models started immediately after the release.

Immediately after the release, NVIDIA was rumored to be preparing, among other things, a 16 gigabyte version of GeForce RTX 3070 and 20 A GB version of the RTX 3080 models for release later this fall. RTX 3080 20 GB was seen on a slide from one video card manufacturer, among others. Since then, several independent rumors have reported that NVIDIA has canceled not only RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 20 GB, including other designed models.

Kopite7Kimi, one leaker who polished his spurs this year, has amassed most of the leaks on his Twitter account. If his information is correct, NVIDIA has indeed canceled, for example, RTX 3080 20 GB, but instead the company would prepare a new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti model 20 with GB of memory. According to Kopite7Kim, it would be based on the GA 102 – 320 – KD-A1 graphics circuit with RTX 3090 10496 CUDDA kernel, but the memory bus would have been throttled to the level of RTX 3080, i.e. 19 with Gbps GDDR6X memory chips and 320 bit memory bus. The TDP value for the entire video card is said to be the same as for the RTX 3080 model.

Rumors have also circulated recently of the 9984 and 8704 CUDA kernel model, so it is possible that NVIDIA has not yet locked in the final configuration when weighing its response to AMD’s new Radeon. RX 6000 series and the pressure it creates on the market.
