The FTCL is known to have been preparing a smartphone with a sliding display for some time. However, it now appears that Oppo is the first to reach the edges.

Oppo has released a video of its Inno Day 2020 event on YouTube, where it introduces the concept phone Oppo X 2021, which is practically a sliding screen. The sliding mechanism of the phone screen is implemented with built-in motors and is controlled by sliding your finger along the side of the phone.

Resizing the screen is completely seamless and the content on the screen adapts smoothly to the changing size. In addition, for example, when watching a video, if the screen is not widened to its full size, it automatically slides the screen to appear so that the message you just received can be read without interruption.

Oppo X 2021 is at this stage only a concept phone, but Chinese manufacturers in particular have excelled in bringing previously described phones into wider sales as well.
