Pakistan has reactivated the popular Tiktok video app after being blocked for more than a week. According to a notice from the telecommunications authority published on Monday, Tiktok had promised to block accounts that spread “profanity and immorality”.

No moderation of “immoral content” The app was blocked on October 9th on the grounds that Tiktok was not moderating immoral content despite being requested to do so. A petition in the South Asian country with more than million inhabitants requested the reactivation.

In the past, the authority had asked Tiktok and other video platforms to regulate content more strictly. In September, authorities took several dating apps offline, including the Tinder and Grindr platforms. Critics see it as censorship.
