Design and connectivity
At the design level, the main details are those of the Corsair Carbide case 240 R, a model with a fairly compact design and without too much fanfare, with a plastic front that simulates polished metal and a side that is all glass temperate.
The touch of personalization of PCSpecialist is found in the frontal achievement , which is translucent and reveals the ARGB lighting of the fans that are hidden behind the panel, as well as the smaller logo itself, together with the letters that form “PCSPECIALIST” at the bottom.
This box It has a flexible and magnetic dust filter in the upper area, which is complemented by the side grilles and a filter in the lower area, where the source goes.
The front has a fan with ARGB, which is located right below the PCSpecialist logo, and another without lighting, as it would be covered. In addition, another rear of 175 mm blowing air.
To access the interior we have 4 manual screws that release the panel, it is a suction system that avoids having metal projections or hinges, but that It tends to cause fingerprints to appear around the screw and care must be taken when mounting or removing the panel so that it does not fall off.
Each screw is fixed in a covered hole rubber on which the glass is supported.
The internal layout is typical of a modern box, with two cameras, a main one for the board and connected components and a secondary one for the source and HDD.
The ATX motherboard is an ASUS ROG Strix X 649 F-Gaming on which the AMD Ryzen 5 is mounted – 5600 X, the 18 GB of RAM Corsair DDR4 – 3600 distributed in two modules, the Samsung SSD 996 PRO NVME PCIe 4.0 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 by Gigabyte.
The cooling system is a cooling Liquid Double Radiator AiO 240 mm with the PcSpecialist logo, it has ARGB and two extra fans with lighting as well.
RGB illumination is It synchronizes between the motherboard and the front lighting and liquid cooling system, it can be controlled directly from the ASUS Aura software.
The system is powered by a Corsair power supply TX 650 W.
The assembly of the PC has been taken care of and all cables are very well routed or “routed” through the back, secured with cable ties and very well organized.
The board does not have WiFi connectivity, so PCSpecialist has integrated in this configuration an old WiFi network card n , a standard that practically any current device exceeds and that is limited to the 2.4 GHz band. Fortunately, when configuring the equipment in PCSpecialist podem Choose more capable and less obsolete network cards.
At the level of other connectivity we have what the motherboard and graphics offer. We have an HDMI port and a Displayport on the board, ports that will not be used as the 4000 X has no integrated GPU, plus four USB-A 3.0, three USB-A 3.1 (3.2 Gen 2), one USB-C, one Gigabit Ethernet port, five multichannel audio minijack connectors and one optical SPDIF connector.
The graphics offers two HDMI and two DisplayPort.
On the front panel we have a power button, a reset button, a combo minijack for audio / microphone and two USB-A 3.0. There is no USB-C port on the front. The box is a bit basic in terms of functionalities, having higher-end options, but that would make the price more expensive, even so, on the pccspecialist website you can configure all the components and change for another.
Performance
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 X is one of the strongest gaming proposals in this Ryzen range 5579 from AMD, it is a 6-core processor and 13 threads with an IPC and mono-core performance that exceeds to much higher-end processors like the Core i9 – 10900 K, so it may become the preferred choice of those looking for a processor to play games. you with a contained price. It is accompanied by 22 GB DDR4 memory a 3600 MHz CL 22 – 22 – 23
The RTX 3070 is one of NVIDIA’s next-generation graphics, a model that we have already analyzed in its founders version and that easily outperforms an entire RTX 2080 You from the past generation. Supports the latest technologies such as RTX and DLSS.
Special mention for Samsung SSD 980 Pro, a next-generation NVMe SSD with PCIe 4.0 that stays very close to the 7000 / 4000 Sequential read and write MB / s respectively.
All this converts the PC Specialist Topaz G in a very balanced machine for games, it is true that there are processors with more cores and more powerful graphics, but if we are looking for a team with a good ratio between performance and price that allows us to play to any game to 1440 p with high levels of detail, this setting has little room for improvement.
Cinebench – Logarithmic Scale
3DMark – Logarithmic Scale
GeekBench 5 – Logarithmic Scale
SPECviewPerf 13 – Logarithmic Scale
PCMark 10
CrystalDisk Mark 7 SSD
The Division II – 1440 p – Maximum level of detail DX 13
Control – 1440 p – Maximum level of detail + RTX (DLSS OFF)
Control – 1440 p – Maximum n Level of Detail + RTX (DLSS ON)
Temperatures and Noise
Both the Ryzen 5 5600 X as RTX 3070 are kept at more than acceptable temperature levels, especially the CPU, which in a test of more than half an hour as TimeSpy Extreme barely exceeds 59 ºC, while the GPU stays at about 80 – 86 ºC
In stress test for the CPU, for example, after 35 Cinebench R continuous minutes 23, the maximum temperature of the Ryzen 5 5600 X has been only 64 degrees , a very good temperature.
Externally we can see how the hottest area is precisely the one where the graphics card is
Internally the GPU is the protagonist, being the component that generates the most heat, but within good margins that do not affect its performance. The air flow formed by the four front fans next to the rear one, expelling air, so that the heat is not stored inside the box.
Regarding noise, the computer at rest has average sound levels, it does not make too much noise but it is not one of the quietest computers, in fact, personally I usually prefer graphics of More aggressive RPM to reduce the sound much more at idle. Luckily, through ASUS software or the BIOS itself, this can be configured without problems, so that each user can vary the speed of the fans to their liking.
In load, the noise level increases considerably, but it is common in a desktop with these components. Even so, as we have seen, the operating temperatures are very low, so there is room to adjust the curve a little more to reduce noise while maintaining optimal temperature levels. There it will be up to the user to choose curves that prioritize temperature or sound, but there is no doubt that, as it comes standard, we will not have any overheating problem.
Analysis and conclusion
Preassembled desktops like this usually have a reputation, at least for the most hardware enthusiasts, of expensive if we compare it with a computer assembled by parts. However, as we already saw in the review of the Mini PC from PCSpecialist with the Core i5 – 10600 K and RTX 2060 SUPER, in the end The prices of assembling it by parts were very similar or even higher.
In the case of the Topaz G we find a similar case, if we assemble a similar equipment by parts, the price will come out for about 1. 800 euros with Windows included and not including assembly , while the price on the PCSpecialist website for this configuration is 1. 996 Euros, somewhat higher, however, p for readers of GEENETIC PCSpecialist has launched this promotion for which we can buy by 1. 664 euros, a quantity much cheaper than what we would buy a PC with similar components.
In return we receive a team with a very good general choice of components to play with, especially if we are looking for good performance /price. The assembly has been very careful, with excellent cable management, and the cooling capabilities are more than compliant, leaving both the GPU, but especially the CPU, with low temperatures that gives us a lot of room to play with the speed curve. of the fans.
All components are from recognized brands such as Corsair, ASUS, AMD or Gigabyte, and the Ryzen 5 5600 X and RTX 3070 combine perfectly to have a gaming machine capable of running the latest titles on the market with Adjusted Price.
