Phillips is expanding its gaming monitor portfolio with two new entries: the 242E1GAEZ and the 272E1GAEZ. Both share similar specifications, but the first is a 24-inch model, while the latter is 27-inch.

Both the 242E1GAEZ and the 272E1GAEZ have VA panels with FullHD resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 4ms G2G response times (1ms MPRT). These panels have an 8-bit colour depth and 350nits of brightness, but the contrast ratio and colour gamut coverage differ. The 242E1GAEZ has a 3000:1 contrast ratio and covers 96.1% of the NTSC and 125.9% of the sRGB colour spectrum. The 272E1GAEZ has a 3500:1 contrast ratio, covering 101.5% of the NTSC and 121.9% of the sRGB colour gamut.

To prevent tearing, both monitors feature AMD FreeSync Premium. To enhance the visual experience, there’s a set of colour profiles to choose from, depending on the content you’re displaying, and the SmartContrast feature, which automatically adjusts the colours by analysing the content displayed. These monitors also feature flicker-free and LowBlue Mode to reduce the user’s eye strain when using the monitor for long periods of time.

Available video outputs on these monitors include an HDMI port and a DisplayPort. Additionally, there’s 2x 3W speakers and an audio-out 3.5mm jack. The stand allows you to adjust the monitor’s height by 100mm and tilt it from -5º to 20º, but you can improve its ergonomics through the 100x100mm VESA mount.
