One of the most popular functions of Apple’s computer clock are the so-called activity rings. These track calories burned through physical activity (“moving”), the minutes of exercise during the day (“training”) and the hours in which you moved for at least one minute (“standing”). If you have reached your calorie, training or standing goal, there is a virtual patch (“Awards for Activities” or “Activity Award”) that can be viewed in the fitness app on the iPhone. In addition, the watch gives you various new fitness goals on a regular basis – from the “perfect week” in which you closed all activity rings, to sporting goals on certain holidays, to individual monthly awards. Awards to pin on A US company now has started bringing the awards for activities into the real world. At Activityawards.com you can get almost all awards offered by Apple in the form of enamel pins to attach to your lapel. The idea behind it: “You work hard for your fitness goals – now it’s time for real recognition.”

Individual pins or packages Both individual awards and packages are sold. There are different weekly goals for US dollars each, the typical Close-Your-Rings-Award in four Colors are available for 14 euros. Packages are available in different variants at prices between 24 and 59 dollars. Currently, a “Limited Edition” bundle is offered, which includes rare awards such as the “Parks Award” or the “Yoga Award”.

Monthly Awards in advance However, it gets really expensive if you get the “Monthly Awards” Package treats. It contains “Perfect Month” awards and monthly goals plus so-called Black Out Awards for each month of the coming year, which you treat yourself to if you have not achieved the goals for a month. 150 Dollars are due for this, a pre-order phase is currently running. What Apple says about this business model is unclear – the group has so far only distributed badges to its own employees or as part of its developer conference WWDC.
