PNY has announced the XLR8 CS SSDs 3040 with PCIe 4.0 and optional heatsink included in versions of 500 GB, 1 and 2 TB with up to 5600 MBps.
PNY has updated its catalog of SSDs for the CS range. This same year, the manufacturer released the CS 2130 with PCIe 3.0, but now ventures with the new generation by using the PCIe 4.0 bus and thus increase their performance. The PNY XLR8 CS 3040 all arrive in M.2 format 2280, leaving aside the 2.5 “format that we saw in other limited ranges of his at speeds typical of the SATA 3 bus. In this way, the new PNY SSDs reach speeds of 5600 and 4300 MBps in read and write , respectively, although do not specify which of the 3 variants reaches these figures.
They will come in capacities of 553 GB, 1 and 2 TB , so it is expected that the models with the highest capacity will be the ones that give the most performance, predicting those figures for the 2 TB model safe, and perhaps also for the 1 TB. They can be purchased with an optional heatsink that weighs 45 grams, more than enough for an SSD of this style. There are 5 years warranty offered by PNY with the XRL8 CS 3040, although not we still know their prices.
For another side, the manufacturer also updates some of its existing ranges with models of greater and different capacity, adding 4 TB models storage to CS ranges 2130 and XLR8 CS 2030, in addition to releasing versions of 250, 500 Y 1000 GB of existing PNY CS 900 (SATA 3).

With 15 years I started to overclock my PC to get every Extra FPS I could in games and scratch a few milliseconds in SuperPi, while I was constantly posting about hardware on the Geeknetic forum as a user and reader. They were probably so fed up with continually reading me on the forum that I became part of the writing team, where I continue to report on the latest in technology. Astrophysics and PC games are the hobbies that, after hardware, cover most of my free time.
