Since the introduction of the Zen 2 architecture and the X 570 platform the demand for PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs is steadily increasing. Tiger Lake and the upcoming Zen 3 generation are pushing this development even further. Already at Computex 2019 PNY made an effort and presented its first M.2 SSD model with the designation CS 4040. Unfortunately, to this day, interested parties are still waiting in vain for an appearance.

It is all the more gratifying that PNY is now offering the XLR8 CS 3040 – series has announced an M.2 SSD with PCIe 4.0, the transfer speeds of 5. 600 MB / s for reading and 4. 300 should reach MB / s when writing.
