Printing faces, copying objects: handheld 3D scanners from Anet
Source: Heise.de added 18th Jan 2021Construction files for geometric bodies are relatively easy to construct using common CAD programs. But if you want to print faces in 3D or copy irregular objects, then the construction is difficult and true to the original hardly feasible.
The handysense Professional, a 3D handheld scanner, is supposed to make this very easy. That only 600 g heavy device is marked with 215 mm × 120 mm × 34 mm quite compact. It takes up to 10 images per second from the artwork with an accuracy of 0.1 mm and a maximum image field size of 290 mm × 214 mm.

The device is either guided around the object to be scanned by hand or attached to a tripod. In this case, the object must be placed on a turntable. Scanning is done with infrared light.
The image field size of the scanner fits the printer models from Anet.
The associated software shows the object on the screen during the scanning process and marks the areas for which further Recordings are required. End products are files that can be loaded directly into common slicers such as Cura and printed immediately.
The scanner is delivered in a sturdy aluminum case and costs 2280 U.S. dollar.
