Although not long ago Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 888 , a chip that reached us with a strange name in relation to the usual naming scheme, and with a Plus version that should arrive in the middle of the year, today Qualcomm has revealed more or less silently the Snapdragon 870 , a high-end chip that, although in principle arrives with a performance lower than that of the Snapdragon 888 , it arrives anyway with a high-end performance, as we will see below.
Among its specifications, we find 5G connectivity compatible with both mmWave and Sub-6 networks, as well as DSS , in addition to a very interesting performance thanks to the maximum frequency of 3.2GHz it can achieve on its high-performance cores, thus providing better performance than Snapdragon 865 +.
Other characteristics would be the possibility of Capture video at 960 FPS without time limitation, the incorporation of the Qualcomm Sensing Hub together with the FastConnect module 6800 to provide support for WiFi 6, and an artificial intelligence system capable of performing 15 TOPS, thus increasing what we can do with terminals that equip this processor.
Speaking of them, there are several brands that have been interested in the Snapdragon 870, as would be Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, iQOO or Xiaomi , at the same time as expected what l The first terminals with this processor begin to arrive during the first quarter of 2021.
