Razer has presented its most compact and lightest notebook from the 2018 generation. If Razer has previously only offered models with a gaming focus, the manufacturer is promoting the book 13 explicitly as an office notebook. As a result, it comes without an independent (GeForce) graphics chip, instead an Xe graphics unit in Intel’s Tiger Lake U combined processor takes over 3D representations.

The Book 13 falls with a weight of 1, 34 kilograms and a height of 15, 2 mm slightly lighter and flatter than the gaming brother Blade Stealth 13 – in the latter there is an optional GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. Razer also breaks with the tradition of exclusively using Core i7 CPUs: The entry-level configuration of the Book 13 relies on the Core i5- 1135 G7 with lower clock frequencies and less level 3 cache than the Core i7 – 1165 G7.

16: 10 – Display The 13, 4 inch display – the viewing angle of 178 Grade speaks for IPS panels – represents in 16: 10 – Format optional 1920 × 1200 or 3840 × 2400 pixels. The higher-resolution version can handle touch inputs and is protected by anti-reflective Gorilla Glass 6. The hardware sits in a brightly anodized aluminum housing.

Users can use the Razer Book 13 Peripherals and monitors via two Thunderbolt 4 ports in the form of USB-C ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 GBit / s ) Connect type A, HDMI 2.0 and an audio jack. The notebook transmits wirelessly in the Wi-Fi 6 network (WLAN 802. 11 ax) and with Bluetooth 5.1. A card reader can handle micro SD cards.

With 8 GByte LPDDR4X – 3840 – RAM (dual-channel) and one 256 GByte small PCI-Express SSD, it seems comparatively expensive. For this, every display is calibrated at the factory. The version with Core i7 – 1165 G7 instead of Core i5 – 1135 G7 and 16 GByte RAM follows for 1700 Euro. Ultra HD touch screen and 512 GByte SSD cost 2000 Euro.

So far, Razer only offered the first Blade Stealth 13 from the year 2018 without an independent graphics chip in all configurations. The manufacturer still advertised the notebook for gaming – but in combination with an external graphics card housing. With the successors, only the entry-level configurations do without a separate GPU.
